  • Carpe Divem Trois

    $110.00

This wine's real point of difference is that it is a blend of three consecutive vintages. The blend number is written in letters on the label, to identify the different blends of each vintage. CARPE DIVEM 'TROIS' (2011, 2012, 2013) was bottled in August 2016. The blending of different vintages is very common in Champagne but very rare for red wines, most famous example being Vega Sicilia's Reserva Especial. The weather makes a great difference to our vintages, and because of this, blending different vintages is a way of reducing the effect of the weather, by evening it out; poetically speaking, one might say the wrinkles of time is smoothen away. Some might say that by blending, something is lost, and in a way this is true. The mark of a particular year is effectively erased, in other words, the vintage effect. Blend of Merlot 70%, Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault 30%

  • Calmel & Joseph Villa...

    $30.00

Brilliant and limpid with a pale greenish gold hue. The aromas are particularly expressive in this rather hot vintage, with stone fruit such as apricot or vine peach, evolving to floral notes of acacia blossom and aniseed. Good balance in the mouth, fresh, fruity and round, with a delicious minerality which is the signature of this wine from one vintage to the next. Softly oaky and very harmonious finish which remains superbly fresh in spite of the heatwave conditions of the vintage. A blend from 6 different fields.

  • Calmel & Joseph Villa...

    $32.00
A wine of reddish-purple colour with exquisite violet reflections. The nose opens with seductively powerful aromas of ripe black fruit, then come cocoa and mocha, with fig, prune and blackberry joining in the dance, mingling joyfully with vanilla and toasted notes. In the mouth, the smoothness of texture and the silkiness of the tannins are astonishing. The aromas echo the same black fruit enhanced with truffle-like notes of forest floor, leading to an opulent but superbly fresh finish. A wine gorged with sunshine that indulges the senses whilst maintaining a perfect balance that allows it to rise to all occasions.

  • Calmel & Joseph Faugères

    $32.00
This 2017 vintage offers us an alluring cherry red wine with an intensely fruity nose of red berries, boxwood, mint, tobacco and cocoa. In the mouth the attack is emphatic, exceedingly elegant and balanced with, as always, the characteristic weft of its tannins with their fine equilibrium between tension and power. Cherry, jammy raspberry and wild rose mix with darker notes of violet, liquorice, musk and cedar. This vintage possesses a more assertive personality than ever, no doubt due to the evolution in methods of working in the vineyard and in the cellar, with a charmingly rustic quality and terroir-driven expression that retain a surprising, elegant harmony.
  • Calmel & Joseph La Ruffe

    $50.00

Deep purple red in colour. Initial aromas are typical of this terroir of red shale mounds known as “ruffes”, with untamed, spicy notes of garrigue, followed by peat and truffle in a very Mediterranean style. The palate is elegant and superbly balanced with silky, melting
tannins of great persistence. The inherent freshness of this wine is exceptional, as always, with a myriad of small red berry fruit, truffle, garrigue but also notes of black olive tapenade creating exceptional harmony. A rare cuvee that can be enjoyed today, in this vintage, or cellared for many more years.
