Carpe Divem Trois
$115.00This wine's real point of difference is that it is a blend of three consecutive vintages. The blend number is written in letters on the label, to identify the different blends of each vintage. CARPE DIVEM 'TROIS' (2011, 2012, 2013) was bottled in August 2016. The blending of different vintages is very common in Champagne but very rare for red wines, most famous example being Vega Sicilia's Reserva Especial. The weather makes a great difference to our vintages, and because of this, blending different vintages is a way of reducing the effect of the weather, by evening it out; poetically speaking, one might say the wrinkles of time is smoothen away. Some might say that by blending, something is lost, and in a way this is true. The mark of a particular year is effectively erased, in other words, the vintage effect. Blend of Merlot 70%, Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault 30%

Calmel & Joseph Villa...
$30.00Brilliant and limpid with a pale greenish gold hue. The aromas are particularly expressive in this rather hot vintage, with stone fruit such as apricot or vine peach, evolving to floral notes of acacia blossom and aniseed. Good balance in the mouth, fresh, fruity and round, with a delicious minerality which is the signature of this wine from one vintage to the next. Softly oaky and very harmonious finish which remains superbly fresh in spite of the heatwave conditions of the vintage. A blend from 6 different fields.

Calmel & Joseph Villa...
$32.00A wine of reddish-purple colour with exquisite violet reflections. The nose opens with seductively powerful aromas of ripe black fruit, then come cocoa and mocha, with fig, prune and blackberry joining in the dance, mingling joyfully with vanilla and toasted notes. In the mouth, the smoothness of texture and the silkiness of the tannins are astonishing. The aromas echo the same black fruit enhanced with truffle-like notes of forest floor, leading to an opulent but superbly fresh finish. A wine gorged with sunshine that indulges the senses whilst maintaining a perfect balance that allows it to rise to all occasions. -
Calmel & Joseph Caramany

Calmel & Joseph La Ruffe
$50.00Deep purple red in colour. Initial aromas are typical of this terroir of red shale mounds known as “ruffes”, with untamed, spicy notes of garrigue, followed by peat and truffle in a very Mediterranean style. The palate is elegant and superbly balanced with silky, melting
tannins of great persistence. The inherent freshness of this wine is exceptional, as always, with a myriad of small red berry fruit, truffle, garrigue but also notes of black olive tapenade creating exceptional harmony. A rare cuvee that can be enjoyed today, in this vintage, or cellared for many more years. -

Carpe Divem Quatre
$118.00This wine's real point of difference is that it is a blend of three consecutive vintages. CARPE DIVEM 'Quatre' is a blend of 2014, 2015 and 2016 and was bottled in August 2019. The wine is 95% Merlot from a 65 ares plot in the Foncaude area, in Lagamas (Hérault, France). The remaining 5% is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault from the Boissières vineyard in Montpeyroux (the same vines used for DIVEM). -
Calmel & Joseph Le Petit...
$33.00A vibrant red colour veering towards garnet. The nose offers a powerful bouquet garni of spices, with blackberry, fig, cinnamon, and grilled aromas. In the mouth it is supple with well-integrated, plump tannins and superb aromatic expression taking in laurel, pepper, blackcurrant and yellow plum, typical of this most southerly terroir of our region. The Roussillon is fiercely Mediterranean, seared by the sun, and the wine produced in such a harsh environment is something of a small miracle. So this is our “petit miracle” in a vintage that holds a promise of great things to come.
