Domaine Plouzeau, La Chapelle

This single plot is the example of a beautiful terroir, with wind sands, clay and limestone. Ilt’s giving a lovely wine, with fineness, elegance and soft and sweet tannins.

Vinification:
The manual harvest preserves the grapes, as well as gravity tanks.
Fermentation takes place thanks to indigenous yeasts without further additions. The vatting during 5 weeks minimum, at a controlled temperature, allows us a gentle but intense extraction of tannins.
The ageing, after the malo-lactic fermentation, during 18 months (12 months in « demi-muids » and 6 months in vats) in our cellar under the castle of Chinon.

Tasting comments:
Sight : very deep ruby red.
Bouquet : rich and complex, very fruity, with aromas of blackberry, cherry, prun and coffee.
Palate : round attack with a big range. This wine have a lot of tanins with elegance.
